On July 15, 2022, the roof of a large apartment house in Worcester collapsed, leaving 80 people homeless. Some were able to salvage pieces of property the next day, but others lost everything. WAMS is joining the United Way of Central Massachusetts and other community organizations in trying to help these families who have to start over again, with so few resources. Today, WAMS made an appeal to UCC churches and some other WAMS friends, asking for cash donations that will be aggregated and donated to a central fund that has been set up. Donations can be made by check to the Worcester Area Mission Society, 6 Institute Rd., Worcester 01609 or by using the Donate button on the WAMS website: https://Wamsworks.org. Anyone who has questions can call Karen Ludington, Executive Director, on her cell phone (978) 660-4915.
